Every year at this time of the year the Southern right whales arrive to the coast of Chubut in the south of Argentina.
The Peninsula Valdes is the place where you can see the arrival of the whales. Peninsula Valdes is an important nature reserve located in the Chubut province. The coastline of the Valdes peninsula is inhabited by sea lions, elephant seals and fur seals. The places to find the Southern right whales are Golfo Nuevo and Golfo San José, where they stay for mating and giving birth between May and December.
The Valdes Peninsula was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 because of the wildlife diversity of its coasts.
The Chubut Government will transmit live this amazing experience for everyone, if you like nature you can see live the arrival of the whales to the Chubut shore where they return every year for their mating season.

Whale Vigil 2009: Watch the whales live here
I think this is fascinating. Nature has its own unique way of reproducing and to have these whales show up the same time every year for mating is unbelievable. I know you have tons of tourist between May & December. One would only think a population of whales, sea lions, fur seals and elephant seals would be in Alaska. Oh well, shows how much I know about nature!
