Talampaya National Park, La Rioja



The Talampaya National Park has the appeal of its cliffs and fantastic variety of shapes caused by erosion. In the Park you can find many notable tacit and petroglyphs.


It´s canyon of 3 km you can find all kinds of formations of up to 50 m high, and cliffs arriving at 150mt. Talampaya is an impressive monument.


Can be reached by car by the national route 76, from where part of a road 14 km to reach the park. It is located 277 km from the city of La Rioja, and its nearest town is "Villa La Union", a village located in a mountainous area and around which you can see orchards and vineyards.







Protecting native species, the park preserves and is the habitat of many animals such as guanaco, the hare mara, cuises, vizcachas, foxes, ferrets, squirrels of the Sierras, and the Pichi-Llorón and Pichi-Ciego who are in danger of extinction; to be an unforgettable spectacle of witnessing the flight of the Andean Condor on Cañadón Talampaya.
