Called Train to the Clouds (Tren a las nubes), because by its very high altitudes, it is one of the more astonishing trains in the world, reaching the clouds, amounts to 4,200 meters high in a journey of 434 km (roundtrip). It is one of the three world's highest railway, which crosses the vertiginous mountains of Andes between spectacular landscapes. Part of the city of Salta, crosses the valley Lerma, to penetrate the Quebrada del Toro and reach the Puna.
Often clouds can be seen under bridges or on the slopes. The number of rules, viaducts, tunnels and other zigzags that runs the train is because the author of the project, the American engineer Richard Maury, took party taking into account the principle of adherence of the wheels on the train tracks and the laws of physics, discarding the mechanical system cog commonly used for training railway can climb the heights with solvency.
